Everyone in Totma is a traveler
Context
The embankment holds the history of the traveling town of Totma. Sailors from Totma set off for distant lands all the way to California. The waterfront features many momunemnts and historical buildings but these sites were not interconnected. Slowly banks overgrown and looked abandoned for years.
Concept
The goal of the project is to create an active pedestrian waterfront, a space that connects citizens and visitors with the city's rich history.
The diversity of activity zones, viewpoints from different levels, and special installations showcasing the intangible heritage of Totma will establish new connections between the city, its residents, and tourists.

These new spaces will activate the cultural program on the waterfront, which will include routes, events, residencies, and daily scenarios, while the special installations will highlight the city's identity.

Everyone in Totma is a traveler
The waterfront branding conveys stories about the Totma sailors who sailed to the shores of California, traded American silver fox fur, and created a map of the Aleutian Islands. Sitting on the steps of the amphitheater, one can not only admire the panorama of the river but also learn these stories — twelve plaques featuring unique illustrations are placed on the seats. The texts of the stories have been created in collaboration with the staff of the Totma Museum Association.
