Symbolizing the new reconnection between the city and the river, the "Kazanka River Gates" are 5 permanent visual and sound installations. Visitors can listen to audio performances specially recorded by the city's theater company.

Concept

We designed the installation to invite people to pause and contemplate the vast river landscape, along a 2-kilometre-long landscaped riverbank. At night, the doors act as reassuring lanterns thanks to perforated metal that reflects the visual identity developed by Orchestra for the project.

Installation

Each gate is an audio installation that tells a poetic story about the relationship between the river and the city, co-produced by the Théâtre de la Ville. Visitors can listen to it in three languages using a set of buttons integrated into the handrail. The sound system is directional to enhance the immersive experience.
